Products and
Services
Modular Construction
-Helidex provides the engineering,
fabrication and installation services for new offshore and land based
helidecks as well as the upgrading of all types of helicopter landing
facilities. We provide the complete aluminum pancake package comprised
of our Heliflex 6000CL planks over our patented aluminum I12 beams. The Guttex 6000 gutter profile is used for the drainage system.
We design our own decks to meet any Codes or regulations. We also
provide design services for the support framing. We design lighting
system as well as solar powered systems for unmanned platforms.
Our systems also include pre-assembled
modular safety net panels supported by aluminum outrigger which are
bolted to the support framing. Additional components such as lighting
(FAA, Zone 1 or Zone2), landing nets, AFFF fire suppression systems and
rescue equipments can also be provided for our pancake systems.

We have recently developed a system for
the retrofit of timber deck using a newly developed decking shape which
is compatible with the construction of existing timber Helidecks. The
Heliflex 6000TR decking planks can be mounted directly over the
steel framing, the typical system used to support the timber planks.
Neoprene gaskets are supplied and installed between the aluminum and
steel. Specially designed clamps are used to attach the decking to the
framing. Alternatively, a specially designed aluminum adaptor plate is
fasten to the steel framing at limited locations and the decking the
decking is then clamped to the plates using our patented Heligrip 6000
aluminum clamps and inverted carriage bolts. |

Fire & Safety
-
Our
helidecks are usually supplied with fire fighting and safety
equipment in accordance with CAP 437 and other related Codes including AFFF self-contained foam stations , complementary media and crash/rescue
equipment.
We have recently started supplying
Deck Integrated Fire Fighting System (DIFFS) as an alternate to a Fixed
Monitor System (FMS). The DIFFS system is still AFFF based and is based
on a proven Tyco/Ansul design. Unlike in other designs where the spray
nozzles are located within the deck, our nozzles a mounted on the
perimeter of the helideck for an effective foam application and a
reliable system. Deck mounted nozzles are susceptible to clogging and
tend to collect debris and may fail to activate if not properly
maintained or the deck cleaned regularly.
